I just wondering, when playing against the computer, you can get a ROP, or build up a massive army on your boerder, and the ai doesn't even blink.

IF I was playing with a friend, I would be mightly pissed off, if they started amassing troops on a shared border. What other things do you see happening that just isn't possible with the ai.

SPECULATE!

Tech brokering will be completely different. I will never ever give mil. tradition for 200 gold to anyone, like the AI selling to me.

Luxury Trading will be different, too. Humans don't need 3 luxuries and all my techs for their f***** Furs.;)

no more warnings before sneak attacks..... the AO never manages to pull them off since it isn`t capable off amassing troops without tipping me off. I`d do it like this: get ROP, move your troops through to the other border or the coast (maybe evn load some on transports?), then suddenly (!) wheel around ans SMACK!

another thing will be more relistic trade, like the underdogs working together but also backstabbing each other with aim......

Also, the AI can`t learn from others.... So i simply get alliances against player1, kill him off, get alliances against player2, kill him off, get alliances against wait a minute!!!! Why the hell do they still go along with me? I`m the only one who gains anything!!!!!! I guess that`s one thing no human will be stupid enough to do.....

Oh boy. I think MP is where the improvements from Civ2 to Civ3 are going to be much more of a factor in how you play the game.

As already mentioned, trading, especially with resources, is going to be a whole new animal when playing with/against humans. :love2:

Same with war, threatening war, MPP's, alliances...ahhh, that felt good. :rocket:

No more taking advantage of all of the stupid little ai idiots. With humans, you'll never know what to expect. I love it.

Aaahh.....Anyone got a smoke? [pimp]

I've been away for 2 or 3 weeks....what is the lates on MP????

I haven't pulled my Civ3 from the shelf now for more than a month and by the time MP comes out, I will have forgotten all I've learned.....God forbid I have to play anymore SP games to get back into 'shape'.

Also, all of those out there waiting for MP, if you have the patience for big, long games of MP Civ, take down my ICQ.....hopefully it won't be too long. I can play only on weekends and maybe the occasional Friday afternoon/evening.

I guess you will have too. some pretty mean strategies running round here (hehehehehe).

don`t know about MP, but I guess it will never come in a form that makes it real playable for people with a regular job :(

Well, I should hope it will. Civ2's game design, while it left some, well a lot, to be desired, was still playable. Even for a guy like me, 'regular job' and all. I was in a number of very good, continuing games that lasted 2, 3 and 4 months playing almost exclusively on weekends. Of course, I grew roots in my chair, hehe, but it was always worth it. Diplomacy in Civ2 with humans was WAY better than diplomacy with the AI in Civ3.

With decent connections, and patient players, we should be able to have some good 5 or 6 player games with Civ3. At least.

Also, Firaxis has said that they're working on some ideas to make it more playable, so I'm hoping that games of 8 or 10 will be practical. We'll see.

I hope they take into account the lenght of games, and have different options to make it work for different people. In my case, I would love to play a move a day when the moves become like 5-10 minutes each.

With regards to forgetting all the strats employed in sp, I think it wont be applicable anymore.

Imagine 2,3,4,5,ect... smaller civs ganging up on the superpower...I think the time limit will always be reached. I never palyed civ2mp though, but I cant see how there could be any way to win other than histograph. Alliances will ALWAYS change when there is a clear leader. It will always be everyone against the leader or the top two against everyone, and then its just a 2 player game.

hey VoodooAce!

I never found players for CivII MP, and now i don`t see how I could find time (was up working until 2:00 this morning - that`s normal for my job - yawn!). But if they come up with a viable e-amil-game option I`d love to try that!
