I must have done well over a thousand starts before, but have yet to see one like this...

No forests at all (that's a first for me, I think), tons of elephants, a banana... I haven't explored beyond, but I'm sure it's mired in jungle.

Wow. I don't remember the last time I had more then one resource in the BFC, usually cow. I guess it's RNGs way of telling me to install the latest unofficial patch, or I'll be drowned in forest for eternity

Hmmm...I think it is probably even better than it already looks, because BTS seems to put forests on the squares in the starting location that don't have hidden resources. I bet you have horses, copper or iron there.

(I don't have a screenshot, but I once had a start with 3 wine on a river, two seafood, plus gems in the BFC. Doesn't quite compete with this one, but close!)

Well, I attached the save for anyone who is interested... It's Immortal/Marathon/Huge/15 civs/Big and Small/No Barbs. I'm not even playing it now, just saving it for later.

The thing that really surprises me is no forest whatsoever. I've had all forest plenty of times, but never no forest.

That might just be a graphics card/setting thing. I think that they usually show up to me as a hut in what looks like grasslands, but if you mouse over them you can see that they are jungle. And then after you pop 'em the jungles appears.

It only does that if you have a "bad" start.

I think the best starts I've had have been Boreal maps (i've had 9 resources in the BFC)but I have a few good saved starts I can post I guess.

Yeah now that you say it, the trees do seem to grow in the tile right after they're popped.

I once have a start that have 2 copper in the big fat square, and it wasn't lacking in food either.

Also, it seems to me that every time I play Shaka, I ALWAYS gets copper in BFS. Once I have marble, gold, corn and a sea food at start. I thought this time I won't find copper any where near. But surprise! the only spot that wasn't covered in forest has a copper.

It also seems that there never is horse around when I play as Darius.
