very nice, thank you where can one download it?
Glad you like the design! I have a bunch I'd like to upload to the Internet somewhere. I noticed you have a ship-pack available in the GCII Library. Could you perhaps explain to me (or point me to a FAQ or post) how you go about uploading designs to the GCII Library?
I've been digging around for directions but I haven't found any clear instructions about how to do it. I gather I have to combine and compress the ship files I want to upload...however my knowledge concerning these processes is in a nutshell "lacking".
Any help you can offer is appreciated.
Aww, yeap- posting at GalcivII is somewhat tricky. Well, you first have to register and afterwards you need to open an additional metaverse sub-account in the metaverse section and set it to default (since you can use your metaverse account for more than one user account).
Only now is one able to post one's mods in the library section. I hope that helps a little- it sure gave me a hard time back when I was trying it. That's also the reason I use my brother's account (michimex.) over there- I was never able to register for some strange reason...
This is, by the way, what I used for inspiration when making the Vampyr Class - Stargazers' Electra Class Fighter-Bomber
Anyone has a sufficiently megalomaniactic, mythical name to suggest for this one?
How about Gantrithor (sounds mythological enough to me)?
Thank you- I got one close enough: Triton !
Atlas? Titan? Friggin-huge-spaceship?
More : Dominator, Dyson sphere class, Kraken
Terran Alliance News broadcast:-
People of the Terran Alliance, this has been a dark time for our people. Our attempts to defend our Altarian brothers from the Korx aggression have failed due to the Torian surprise assault. The battle between our main fleet and the Torian main fleet resulted in a costly victory for our fleet. Although the Torian battleships were destroyed by our powerful frigates, the bulk of them were lost.
However, do not despair! The navy has been rebuilding, and the newest weapon against the Xeno aggressors has arrived, the Titan class battleship. Using the latest Terran research, the Titan out performs all known xeno vessels, and the first ship has already scored 5 kills in combat in the second week of service.
(Taken from the latest battle in Torian space, showing the TAS Vlaana mopping up the remained transports after destroying the escorts, with the TAS Angelus in support)
Rejoice! The march on Korx and Toria begins today!
Enlist in the navy or marines today for your piece of the glory! Battle the evil xeno’s. Help liberate our Altarian brothers!
Here is my starter colony ship I made. Also, a light fighter that I am trying to lower its unlock time. I need to change my main color. As you can tell I like using those baubles as globe cockpits. Makes me think of Urza from Magic the gathering.
Here are a couple of other designs as well. I am missing one somehow but I may have deleted it. >< These two will end up recieving some modifications. The hornet is getting cosmetic surgery. The Angelfish need some work on her setup.
A lil Bump for fresh Dark Avatar creations
I have a few questions: If I build a colony ship with more than one colony module, does it make a diference?
And if I build a constructor with multiple construction modules?
I suppose that if I build weapons into colony or construction ships, they disapear after they are used, I mean i dont become an armed ship which is unable to colonize or build anymore?
1) You would be able to transport more colonistst on one ship
2) No difference, ship gets lost after construction
So a construction ship with multiple modules wouldn´t build spacestations with multiple modules.
Wow, looks like nobody's been posting here for a while. Time to bump it with one of my own creations.
Let's keep our creativity alive, people!
Well here's the ones I've been using for a long time now. I don't even remember how I made them and I've seen better.
Lambda Imperial Shuttle:
Imperial II Class Star Destroyer:
Super Star Destroyer-esque ship:
They look good to me, but I have only played a few times.
I've finally managed to get some decent looking ships, so I decided to upload them.
Despite their primitive weapon systems, the Sabik-Class Cruisers proved devastating in the Terran-Krynn War. Although losses were high, the ease of construction facilitated mass production giving Terran forces a distinct advantage over their Krynn counterparts. Despite their aging systems, the original Sabik-Class Cruisers form the bulk of the Reserve Fleet in the war against the Thalen.
Ballista-Class Battleship M1A
The Ballista-Class Battleship forms the centerpiece of any Terran Fleet. Powerfully armed with two banks of Pulse Cannons and a dorsal laser battery, the Ballista-Class Battleships can blast their way through most opposition. Defensively, they are a strong improvement over the Sabiks, with shielding protecting the ship from increasingly devastating Krynn lasers. Furthermore, the Ballistas are equipped with heavy engines, allowing them to quickly reinforce local Sabik wings should emergencies arise. Considering Terran Military Doctrine emphasizes smaller, well armed ships over large dreadnoughts, it is likely the Ballistas will remain the cornerstone of the Terran Navy for the Thalen War.
Sabik-Class Cruiser M1 Fleet
Although the individual systems on the Sabik-Class were rapidly becoming obsolete, the ship itself had proved its worth during the long and bloody Terran-Krynn War. Outfitted with new pulse cannons, dorsal laser batteries, and basic shielding, the new Sabik will likely form the bulk of the Terran Navy for many years.
EDIT: I decided I wasn't happy with how the Ballista class turned out, and after extensive re-design it emerged as the Moscow-Class Battleship.
After sustaining heavy losses in the inconclusive Thalen War (ie: the AI got lucky and managed to raid my transport staging zone twice), the Terran Navy de-emphasized overall firepower in favor of increased defensive measures. The Moscow-Class proved itself a reliable and formidable warship sustaining one combat loss during the Korath Emergency.
Although the Sabik-Class had served admirably, it was becoming clear that the base hull design was approaching obsolescence with heavy losses sustained during the Korath Emergency. A new class of warship was designed to form the backbone of Terran Armadas. Although layered with heavy defensive equipment, the offensive weaponry of the Imperator-Class Dreadnought is sadly lacking due to delays in developing the Graviton Drivers.
