Pre order bonus (Aztecs) when order from a non steam store?

I preordered civ 6 from gamesplanet, then I realised that the pre order bonus might only be applicable for Steam orders? Do anyone know any details around that?

i ordered too from gamesplanet ... the site is in german and it clearly says that u will have the preorder bonus as well!

If the store is reliable and it states the preorder bonus applies, it should work.

If they email you the key before release, I'd enter it into steam before Civ VI's release date just to be on the safe side.

Preorder bonuses (and all steam activation processes) are based on the key not on the time you activate the key.
