Pre-TLKNES: Bella Epoque

Belle Epoque starts in 1880.

This is an idea for an NES that I have worked on for several weeks now, with input from Lord of Elves. The NES itself is an alternative history, with a PoD somewhere vaguely in the Napoleonic Wars. It's along the line of, the Hartford Convention was successful, Great Britain wins the War of 1812, and France somehow wins a favorable peace in it's own war. New England than proceeds to industrialize and grow, much like OTL, with the economic and political support of Britain, keeping it independent of the United States. The details are to be further filled out by the players, in their own histories.

It will be a fairly basic NES, ran along similar lines of some of my previous NES's, (specifically SMW) or more recent NES's such as EQ's CI. I've worked on an experimental economic system based off of a series of spreadsheets that I've created. This is to take a lot of moderator judgement out of the equation, and also create more interesting cause and effects for the players, specifically in regards to the system of trade agreements I made.

To reiterate, the back story is to be filled out by any players, and affirmed by myself. There are a few things that I consider necessary canon, including;

The Hartford Convention being successful
Initially close relations between New England and Great Britain

The continued split administration of Oregon Country between Britain, the United States and Russia
The Republic of Ezo establish under French guidance

The rest can be worked out by ya'll.

Thus far, I still need to work on how the military system is supposed to work, and how I want to handle politics (elections and the like). All nations are opened, though in regards to the "Great Powers" (Britain, France, Russia, Prussia, Austria, the Ottoman and the United States) I'd prefer to have some more experienced players. Ultimately, if they go unclaimed for awhile, I'll take anyone.
