I was curious how many people have preordered the game or not. You can discuss pros and cons of both or whatever.

i only preordered it because of the 44.95 deal amazon had which still included the pre order overlay and special rulle book. plus free shipping.
I thought it was a good deal. even though I wont get it in the mail for about 5 days after its release.

I'm a Muslim and Eid is on November 3, I think, and I have uncles who have too much money. So I will get about $50, essentially making Civ IV free if I just get it at the store. hehehe.

If you pre-order the special edition on Amazon can one in Australia get it? Where do they send it to your home?

Pre-ordered the special edition on Amazon.com, scheduled to come on the 28th (a Friday). Might as well start playing it when I have the time.

First I had ordered it from EBgames because it was mentioned on fanatics, but I cancelled it to buy it on amazon for a lower price while adding extra to ship it faster. I was just glad I could cancel the old order.

That is what i want to know as well. Because I know I can it for $AU90 here, but over amazon I can get it for roughly $AU65

From my experience with books, amazon delivers to you house/specified address

normal edition, since there is nor special ed in the uk
(which is closest and in the EU... dont wanna pay 25percent taxes for buying in the us...)

I thought you could only preorder the preorder edition!

Amazon will not deliver games to Australia, only books, so you are out of luck there.

Nobody in Australia is selling the preorder edition, so though I've preordered here (for $78 at Games Warehouse) it will only be the normal edition.

In this thread all known international pre-orders are listed. There are three companies that will ship the pre-order edition to Australia.

Thusfar Take2 only sells the pre-order edition in US through a few selected companies. Rest of the world (and other US shops) only the normal edition is available. See also this thread.

Pre-ordered normal edition from Gameplay. I don't care for special editions and little goodies that come with the games - i just want the games to be honest!

I had it preordered on amazon.co.uk (hence the normal edition), with a delivery estimate of sep 28- oct 4! Of course it has not arrived yet :( (and just delays other items I have ordered). Since Play.com is cheaper I just cancelled my amazon order and changed that to play instead (should bring in my other goodies quicker too ;) ).

:goodjob:

I love festivals .

I may get it for Diwali ( or on my birthday ( which is , funnily enough , one day after Eid ( at least this year ) ) , on the fourth of November ) .

Thanks, had a look at that but I'll be sticking to my plain preorder here. EBGames charges US$29 to ship to Australia and GameStop US$32, add in the cost of the game and it adds up to about Aus$104 from EBGames at the current exchange rate.

Pre-ordered Special Edition from Amazon. Too cheap to pay for fast shipping, so I won't get game until early Nov. :(
