I'll take it no one wants the galleon to escape even for a ransom.

@gandhi the peace is to give us a chance to change things around because the cossaks don't get as big bonus against horse units in the new patch.
Not that i am usually so generous but the turns are taking for ever to finish because not everyone has the old patch and its not like we can win anyway.

I'll see what conroes reply is but i take it that we are interested in only a short term peace. Then going over and paying them a visit.

We need a vote on the UN poll below

UN Poll on Patching to Civ4 v1.74

    The options are:
    - Stay with 1.61
    - Upgrade to 1.74, have a type of mod to deal with Cossacks
    - Upgrade to 1.74, use the standard rules
    - Other

I don't know if a mod is even possible.
Since piffle can't even agree to a simple 15 turn ceasefire i really don't see why we should patch for no compensation. So my vote is to stay with 1.61

It would seem the patch notes were wrong. Apparantly when Daveshack went through the code he noticed no change to the cossak bonus in the new patch.

So basically we wasted all this time for nothing...

This is from the main forum

I tried to be nice but piffle didn't like it. So no more being nice. I've had it with the BS. Either we get 7 cossaks to make up for the difference for the new patch or we go on strike. The rest can go play with themselves.

I hope you can all back me up on this.

Seven version of the changes later and we seem to have found the actual changes.

It seems redcoats and cossaks have been nerfed in similar proportions. Given that fact and that cossaks still have a big advantage over cavs i guess a patch isn't going to compromise us.

So with that i have no issues with patching.

    What does everyone else think

patch is fine... my posturing in the main board is an act. :) IT helped us find out once and for all that our enemy is one person which we can use to our advantage...no more 5 days wait while we discuss BS.

If you need me to play a turn or two let me know...

well feel free to take over whenever. I'm pretty busy at the moment and with my pitboss games to play i only drop past here every 2/3 days. So if anyone sees the turn is in play it

I don't understand the discussion. I play in Pbems vanilla in 3 versions and WL in 3 versions; why there are not enough player in the other teams?
My time is also not enough to play often for this team and i'm not good in making decisions in the game. Also i play in the ISDG every turn for GWT, but there is allways many suggestions about it.

And some 5 weeks later new turn played.

Game is now patched to 1.74 so bye bye dual install.

Killed piffle galleon and 3 cavs which had been unloaded near hej igen.

Anyone who whats to take over is welcome because i have no clue what we were doing, so nothing will be lost

To get this game over and done with, so Epsilon can win and we can move on:lol:

I don't know really. War is a bit of an effort but i would like to give piffle some of their own medicine. But my general sentiment is whatever.

The turns are still slow as there are now issues with pre and post BtS 1.74 patch:rolleyes:

Got another one today. Piffle seems to have abandoned the idea of launching a raiding party, guess now that we have frigates the equation is not in there favour. Otherwise just shuffled some workers around the place.

I sat we counter attack on that city of there thats on that little spit of land.

This game is doomed... It wont finish. I am starting to think that civ 4 lacks a team vs team feel due to the conmplexity.

They have a frigate down there guarding it. I would guess some troops as well it is a pretty obvious spot to hit. They are ahead of us militarily so attacking is not a viable option at this point, any sucsess would be down to luck only.

I don't agree civ4 complexity takes away from the team feel, it just that pbem's are really slow compared to pitboss at the best of times, let alone when you have delays.
