Have you ever played a game were you where in the Morden times and found every on still stuck in the Ancient and Middle ages.

I'm destroying the primitive Aztecs right now. There Worrier can not defeat my Morden armour. :mwaha:

I wonder why you aren't playing a higher level....

Unless you are on Deity, in which case you should be playing Sid (although I can understand why not). ;) :p

At higher levels I see that problem in reverse on some maps...

Start on an island and by the time you manage to make contact with everyone else, they've already traded for all inital techs and researched up a bunch more and you're way behind. Of course this isn't a modern armor vs warrior situation, but it's awfully hard to catch up from being half the ancient age behind everyone else - or worse!

If you saw MA coming at you, you'd be a Worrier, too.

 lmao

You need to increase the difficulty level ;)

However, it is not too uncommon for that sort of thing to happen on continents maps where your continent gets very advanced due to you being there, and you wipe it out before contact with the other continent.

a clear sign that you need to move up a level. You may be able to beat those warriors, but watch out for those pesky spearmen. :D

Only a few times. The AI is usually even or ahead of me in techs. The only time the AI gets behind is when one of its CIVs starts in a poor location and then can't expand (multiple island map).

Of course, any AI CIV in that situation becomes my next prey... :)

I Don't know i have had THREE MA's fall to a spearmen before. AND IT IS SO ANNOYING. (Seing how the MA's should just be able to run them over or something).

In real life, a tank (ignoring modern) could run over people only if the train is quite flat (grassland, etc.), if on a mountainous train or "treesy" terrain, people can just hide and the tanks won't see them, or in unusual cases, spearmen can jam their spears into the wheels and BAM, the tank is immobilized. ;)

I have experienced this as well. Having Armored Vehicles simply run over people may not be all that realistic, as I cannot think of many examples in real life. (vehicles accidently running over people nonwithstanding). This also would be unfair to any other non-vehicular units, and to Civs that cannot build vehicular units (not the right resources, etc). This should also be only allowed to happen on flat terrain, not mountains, etc.

Wooden? I think you mean metal... And note the phrase "or in unusual cases"

I once had a co-op monarch game like that. (the other player didn't want to play emperor...) I was stuck on a nice sized island, while my teammate was on a continent fending off several AI. Once the continent was cleared, we set out to find the other 2 AI. It turned out that they (Babylon and Zulus) were on an island to themselves (rather sizable), and had pillaged each others land, and the Babylonian capital was relocated atleast once (meaning Babylon was captured). While we were fast nearing the modern era, Babylon and Zulus were still running around with ancient UUs, and only half-way through the ancient era. Needless to say, both didn't last very long (1-2 turns of war).

Just this morning, before I went to office. 4 of my cavs all with 4 HP, veteran, failed attacking 1 HP spearmen  .In addition 3 of them dead :rocket2:
Weirdly, I find this hard to believe, although I believe nearly all other stories about "rare" events.

The odds of a 1HP spear surviving just 1 4HP Cav attack varies from 0.5% (out in the open on grass type terrain, not fortified) to 3.4% (fortified in a city > 6 on a hill).

Aproximately, the odds of a 1HP spear surviving 4 4HP Cavs in a row is from
0.5%^4=0.00000625% (or 1 in 16,000,000)
to
3.4%^4=0.0001336336% (roughly 1 in 750,000)

Maybe you got very unlucky, but I doubt it. If you can post a save here to prove it I am ready to believe the RNG cheats (despite being shown considerable evidence that it doesn't).

I would never  accuse anyone of stretching the truth. And I try to keep in mind that, with CFCers having played millions of games containing probably billions if not trillions of individual combats, almost any extreme combat result is possible. But I do find it odd that I've never seen a gamesave posted of any of the most extreme results. I know if I had a one hitpoint warrior that held off two armies of MA, I'd not only hang onto that .SAV file, I'd post it on all the boards.
But that's just me, I guess.

LOL just think all these years military forces have been developing Off Route mines and AT Mines when all along they could have just had people pushing sticks in the tracks :)

IRL Tanks are effective in all but the most rugged terrain (Mountains) trees aren't a problem they can be pushed over or blown out of the way.

But it'll be hard for the tank to kill those infantry, the tank can fire all he wants, but he doesn't know where the guys are.

WHAT??? What about infared or night vision? What about the blast radius? Tell again, how can the tank not tell where the guys are? Why was the spear. I saw Saving Private Ryan, just stick some goo on your sock and then creep up to the tank and put it on the side of the track. That tank will stop right there and go no further!!
