Problem Editing TerrainBuildings.pcx

I've been using some graphics packs to make things easier for my old, worn-out eyes. When I did not find a gem I liked, I simply added color to it. That was plenty easy.

Now I'd like to replace the mine graphic. There's a nice one with an ore cart and all for C3C. Rather than 12 boxes, this has 16. I selected the artwork I wanted, then pasted it over the top of the existing one. (Yes, I made a backup.) When I start the game, it displays the mine graphic fine, but the neon-green shows up in subsequent tiles.

I tried several variations of cut-n-paste, and finally just tried a blob, no cut-n-paste at all, and still got the green. Any suggestions as to what am I doing wrong?

PS. I'm using vanilla 1.29f, FWIW.

I'll see if I managed to figure this out.

Incidentally, I did figure out that if I replaced the green with magenta, it displayed fine. But losing the tile border would make future changes a whole lot more difficult, so that would be plan B.

BTW, ignore that bit about 12/16 tiles. That was something of a brain fart.

Thanks. How did you do it? If I understand things, I needed to get the last 2 colors of the palette 00ff00 and ff00ff. But I couldn't figure out a way to do so.

Ruh, roh, Raggy. I extracted the palette, then tried to load it and it tells me "Error Opening Palette"

What GraphicEditor are you using ?

Okay ,you can fix it manually.
open the palette dialog and change the first entry to RGB 70;71;72
change the second last entry to RGB 0;255;0
save that palette
reload your picture
apply new palette
save as pcx

I feel pretty stupid now. I must have been saving it as an unpaletted PCX instead of a paletted one. Do it right and it works fine.

One silly checkbox...
