Slight problem. When I put the laod SVN version and then load my save game it turns the viewports off. This then gives me MAF when I do a save game conversion.

Anyway I can load a new SVN without it turning viewports off?

Keep your UserSettings folder from before.

However, from where you are you can do this:

1) Start a new game with a tiny map (just so you can get into the game UI)
2) Turn viewports back on
3) Quit
4) Restart and load your original game

Even better, do what I do and only have the SVN get the Assets folder, then export that. That way you don't ever need to delete your UserSettings. It is a slight pain as a modder (I actually have 2 SVNs, one only has the Assets, and that is the one I export and play on, and the other has everything from the root of the repository tree, which I use for SDK work).

Is it possible to just have the User Settings in the SVN to have viewports on by default, or is it still too buggy to do so?

It's not so much buggy (though it's certainly not totally bug-less) as unnecessarily annoying unless you need it for memory reasons, which is machine-dependent really.

Somewhat what I meant. However, is the "annoyance factor" more prevalent than someone trying to load a saved game with them off and having a MAF crash early? I don't use them myself (partly due to the annoyance and I don't use super large maps anyway; plus I use the User Settings from an archive), but I think it would be easier turning them off than on (again, assuming all the major bugs have been worked out).

@dusckr87,
As I have yet to have a MAF and I still have not used Viewports I personally would not want them on by "default".

By the way for reference my comp is over 3yrs old, has Dual Core IBM chipset E7400 with 8GB DDR2 1066Mhz ram and an MSI R6450 vid card with 2GB DDR3 ram. Using Win XP Pro x64 OS. I had to update the Vid card back at C2C v17. I do not have to use the /3GB Switch either. (I built it myself for under $700 with OS but not monitor in March of '09).

We'll have to have then on by default once we add Multi-Maps though, won't we?

Same here (both in experience and preference), but at least one person has had a problem. I'm asking which one is more "annoying".

Ok I have it working now.

As for not haveing MAF im useing a gigantic map with 24+ civs on eternity setting.
