Problem with Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse

The MicroSoft Wireless Optical Mouse will sometimes send commands by itself on some programs, they appear to be on a regular time period, like every minute.

It will be like it moved the wheel by itself.

Example, if you are on a zoom command on Microsoft Photo Editor it will zoom in one level about every minute by itself.

Another example, it you are making a selection on a pulldown on a web site, it may jump one line by it self.

It doesn't happen with all programs, there doesn't seem to be any problem with paint or excel or most other programs and it never happened with the other mouse with a cord.

Strangest thing.

I just plugged the mouse into the USB and it works fine.

Still has problem when I plug it into the mouse port.

But the wired mouse has no problem in the mouse port.

Problem solved sort of. Didn't want to use the USB, it took up my last USB port, I would like it back.

BTW, it has the latest driver off the Microsoft site.

I found mine worked slightly better in the USB, but it came out one day, and I'm too lazy to put it back in, so I shoved it into the regular slot.

On my mouse, my Scroll seems to be intermittedly working, but I have had it for a year and a half-ish, so whatddya except. Meh, its good enough.
