I've been playing the game for over a month with absolutely no problems, but suddenly the music has stopped playing during the game. It's also absent from the menu, and the special diplomacy music for each leader as well as leanard nemoy's voiceovers are also missing. The music from the intro movie is still playing fine, as well as the all the sound effects.
I haven't changed any setting on the game or my computer, so I'm really at a loss as to what could be the cause. When starting a new game, I now get the error message:
Audio System: Could not setup 2d stream
Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried changing the custom music directories, experimented with the various audio options, updated my sound drivers, etc, and nothing has worked. All the music files are still in their proper directories, and they run fine with windows media player.
Has anyone encountered this problem and managed to fix it?
