General Information
A once booming utopia is now a husk of its former glory: Warlords fight each other for dominance, the city is utter anarchy, and as the government, you have no choice but to get through these dark times. Either become the peacekeeper force, force the peace, or play politics and choose a side in the conflict, the choice is yours...
UTOPLEX is specifically meant to go on for as long as possible, the point of this game is for it to end when you feel fit. This huge world provides a rich story, a story you create as you choose your purpose as the government force in this chaotic megacity. There's so much unexplored sections that scream to be discovered, and criminals to encounter, to make this once utopia still a bit living.
You start the game in quite an alarming position, as you start off, and for awhile, are only able to create purely defensive units, so be cautious on how you use your units and where you place them. Overtime, you will develop techs in the game that allow for the deployment of soldiers and jets to the mega city. Techs for the government act a lot more like validation of more force from your higher ups, but were not going to get into that, since that's more of the roleplaying aspects of the game rather than something completely new.
So, lets cover some of the basics to know more about this project!
Map
Spoiler :
The map is huge. Its 362x362. Its a big risk, considering the unit limitations (and not considering city limitations due to the fact there are vast pockets of un occupied land) can indeed make this a challenge, but hopefully such an ambitious size can work out.
The map is meant to build on the foundation of the game: A open world of many possibilities. It also helps for the criminal groups to pester and annoy everyone involved, making you need to have more units to keep these areas and check and ensure they don't pop up so much, because trust me, you wont want them, they're extremely aggressive.
Units
Spoiler :
There are 12 Units... its as simple as that, barebone and straight to the point. You can ask for more, I'm open to new features, but here's what we have:
Government Units:
Humanitarian Worker
Government Operator
Government Soldier
Government Escort
Helicopter
Airstrike Support
Survivalist/Warlord/Criminal Units:
Gunman
Militant
DOTW Militant
Armored Car
AA Truck
Warlord Cannon
Factions
Spoiler :
Other than the criminal groups and you, the government, there are other groups that will pester you and possibly even threaten your presence in the city. Lets cover them:
Criminals
Replacing the Barbarians, these guys are small and very aggressive groups who have taken advantage of the anarchy. You will encounter 4 types of common criminals in this city, Looters, Criminals (duh), Raiders, and Extortioners. They're a significant threat in the early game, but they become a nuisance later on as you solidify your strength. Just adds to the flavor of the city and makes it much more alive.
Warlords
These guys are the real deal: Criminals who not only succeeded, but are now thriving and have now made a name for themselves. There are around 6 Warlord factions, of which they're divided into 3 alliances, of which, are at war. Lets see the alliances to get a better picture. There's nothing special about them, really, but you need to discover who is fighting who, and who is teaming up with who:
Alliance 1: The Super Soldiers
Elite Special Forces
Prussian Bars Gang
YALO Nation
Alliance 2: The Axis of Power
Army of Utoplex
Murderers of Dawn
Nuevo Police
Alliance 3: The VIP Gang
Razor Sharp Army
Tick Boom
Utoplex Marines
As you see, many of these names are dumb, which just adds to the tragedy that these clowns are in control of such a city.
Defense of the Weak Brigades (DOTW)
A humble faction, simply trying to defend itself and others, the only beacon of hope in this torn city. Of course, its your choice to decide their fate. Neglect them, support them, or invade them, the choice is yours. If you support them, they're quite literally dependent on you, so be aware of that. Not much to say here, they're more like something to have fun with.
Final Statements
This mod will be very ambitious so I would love for any feedback, suggestions, and recommendations for this mod based on what I've told you guys and what you see in the two development images below. Don't be shy if you notice something that can be an issue, this is experimental and the huge map can be an issue, as I said. This is how you can support me if you are interested, I'm a very open minded guy and I take considerations very seriously, so it will help out a lot. If you reach to here and read all of that yapping, thank you for your time, and have a good day/afternoon/night!
