Hello community! I am new to this forum and I won't be able to actually learn programming for a while but my head is busting at the seams with ideas! In Civilizations the main city tile has always been used to train battalions/armies of units and that has been the only source of units for your civilization; but what if it wasn't?

I believe my idea to be simple, terrain improvements generating small units, the size of a single person in regiments, that does something unique, such as having improvements that only generated units can build, an the ability to band together to form larger, stronger units.

For example, let’s say every 8 turns a fort produces a single trooper. Troopers can be upgraded to any type of offensive units as if they cost 10 shields, or you can sacrifice 2 to make a trooper 2, which has a shield cost of 20, a larger strength and so on. Troopers can also upgrade a fort to a 'keep'. They would upgrade adding it to the tile the fort is in, this would be like the worker's ability to build improvements. The 'keep' would then produce more troopers say at a rate of 1/6 turns. A 'keep' could be upgraded to a 'defense facility' that could pump out troops at a rate of 1/4 turns.

In a fantasy mod, forests could be upgraded with an improvement called a 'sacred tree', which could be upgraded with a 'sacred grove' which would upgrade with a 'standing stones.' Instead of a trooper it would produce a druid. Druids would have the ability to summon treants at sacred forests (a worker build improvement action, intercepted and replaced by spawning a treant unit, like Kael's summoning magic.) there could also be miners produced by mines, smiths produced by workshops and tinkers produced by wind/watermills. Miners would create stone golems, smiths iron golems, and tinkers automatons. Perhaps even grave/graveyard/necropolis that produces necromancers that raise the undead

Feedback would be appreciated, as well as some volunteers to work on the code for this I would love to see this component come to fruition, and if anything requires clarification I would be happy to elaborate.

As of now we need unit graphics, terrain enhancement graphics, and code writers,
I will get started on the concept art.

reserved and that all I need, questions comments, concerns,:help: volunteers?
