Many have already voted and posted in the alternate tech thread so I wanted to be sure everyone had a chance to review this plan even if they had already been there (they might not come back to the other thread).
The proposal is this: Our alternate tech shall be Map Making, unless we already have that tech from the Vikings, in which case our alternate tech will be Polytheism. Rout made the excellent point that even if we are researching Map Making and get it from the Vikings, we can switch to another tech without any loss of beakers, so it's really a win-win situation that gets us Map Making one way or the other. Of course, if that situation were to arise (researching Map Making then getting it from the Viks) and one of our Primary Goal techs were available at that time, we would do that rather than take Polytheism.
