Episode length preference? Balance of Civilization IV, Civilization V and Civilization series in general coverage? Favourite regular co-host? These are a few of the ten questions being asked of the 2013 PolyCast (PC) audience as its seventh season nears its conclusion.

To provide your input on/by December 28th, 2013, follow the link below:

Recording live every other Saturday (timezone converter), PolyCast is a bi-weekly audio production in an ongoing effort to give the Civ community an interactive voice on game strategy; sibling show ModCast focuses on Civ modding, RevCast focuses on console play, SCivCast on social gaming and TurnCast on multiplay of Civilization. PC has been renewed for a 26-episode-and-two-special eighth season in 2014.

Not sure its possible for the survey, but some open questions with a text box to give your opinion of what you think about the podcast and what could be improved would be handy and maybe provide more useful info then the locked in options you've got there now.

Still, big thanks to the team for putting all the work in!

Fair inquiry; it is one that we, the regular panel, considered but decided against. The first reason for this was because open-ended questions would make the results more different to analyze as a set: "apples to apples", so to speak, as opposed to "apples to oranges". The second reason was our view that it would be more likely than not that someone would choose to complete the survey if all questions were of the 'closed' type as it would take less time to complete them for submission (or, at least, the perception :D).

The third reason was, and is, our hope that those looking to provide more customized and personalized feedback would do so by contacting us otherwise... such as in this thread as you have done. :) We would welcome your following up in reply and doing so if you had one or more specific points you want to comment on about the show.

Thank you kindly :king: and for being part of our audience. Out of curiosity, how long have you been a listener and how did you first hear about the show?

I can see your reason for not doing open questions.

The question about the many many guests I was not able to answer. No way I could remember those by name only except for the likes of say Troy Goodfellow, because I also listen to Three moves ahead podcast. I would maybe think about do you enjoy guest(hosts) and how many & often.

I've been listening for many a year now, I must have started somewhere in the first year, but I've not listened to every episode.

Mostly what happen to me is when I get Civ Fever again, I play a lot of Civ and catch up on the Polycast podcast while playing or while not being able to play. Works really well for me in that way. :)

Also around the big launches of main games or expansions I often put Polycast in my playlist.

I understand what you're saying with respect to the guest co-hosts across all episodes of season of the show. My fellow regular co-hosts and I will consider and discuss your point on it.

:king:; it is always neat to learn of such a long-time listener such as yourself and being able to interact with them.

    :)

Thanks for your great work, Polycast-Team!

I second the problem of not remembering the names of your guests!

General feedback: As someone who is only listening to the show for a year or so I sometimes don't know what you're referring to. For example when you're talking about problems in Civ4s design (like vassal states), sometimes your message is "Oh no, don't bring back these ..." - but I as someone who hasn't played Civ4 (or Civ3) that much (or that deeply) don't know what the problem precisely was.

Also it would be nice if you could revisit some topics from time to time. Civ5 has been out for over three years and I think it attracts new players on a regular basis. But when I try to listen to 'old' episodes there is a lot of talk about problems that are not relevant any more. Alternatively you could bring Best-of-episodes or lists or something like that...

And sometimes it would be helpful if you could include references to other games you're playing. I know MadDjinn plays a lot of EU lately and I like to know how it changes the perspective on Civ.

But apart from these minor things I enjoy your show a lot.
