This is a problem I have with Civ 2 and a million and one other games too.
I have the proxy service Proxy+, and I have it configured to allow all types through, and yet it doesn't allow computers on the network to join any games, for example Civ 2 won't allow them to join any multiplayer games. It used to work, but now it refuses to... I'd appreciate any suggestions on this
Secondly, I am the host of the proxy service, with the main IP of 192.168.0.1, and Civ 2 registers this as the main IP when I want to create a game via the internet. I know thats not my internet IP, and I put my internet IP in, but nobody can join, it just says connection failed.
Is there any way of putting an IP in the join box, that would refer to a specific PC on a network?
Thanks for any help offered
This is really an annoying problem...
[EDIT] - I would also appreciate knowing what ports Civ2 uses to connect in and out
