I'm currently searching for a PSU for a new comp i'm planning to build. Which PSU do you think is better for it's money: Hiper Type-R 580W or Enermax Liberty 620W? The price for the Hiper PSU here is 110E and for the Enermax 160E.

So, which one is better? I'm leaning towards Hiper because of price/performance ratio but any other suggestions beside those two PSUs are welcome.

I have a Hiper R580W. It's done me proud, never blown up or complained when I connected it wrong.

However, I have to admit that the Enermax edges it by about 10W max load power.

Either will power pretty much any single GFX card desktop and most SLI systems (GTX cards are thirsty).

Xfire systems... well, I wouldn't go putting twin XTX cards on either. Same problem (not enough juice).

The Hiper got panned on Tom's Hardware because it doesn't give a -12V supply within Intel specs. Guess what? Nothing uses -12V at all.

At the same time, while the OCZ model clearly failed their tests, they refused to pan it. Presumably they didn't want to lose all of their OCZ freebies.

Giving a box with a Union Jack on the side to a bunch of Germen reviewers wasn't exactly a smart move... the same review also pans the Power PC & Cooling 510, regarded as the best PSU available.

TH? Total Horsedump.

You can't always trust reviews, even if it's from well-known sites.
Anyway, i'm going for a single-card solution and i know that the Type-R is enough to power a high-end system.

I'm also planning to keep it for as long as possible and i'm wondering if it will be able to cope with DX10 cards. I heard they are going to be quite power-hungry.
