Ptomely can discover Mathematics. If we build an academy in Arete science will increase from 19.5 to 27.3.

Arkadia with allot of cottages and the silk plantation should, I believe, exceed Arete in terms of raw commerce output, right? Am I missing something? If not, then Arete would seem to be the better choice, no?

Right now, Arete is much bigger than Arkadia.
In the future, who knows...

Why wouldnt we just trade for math? its not like it is a neccesity for now and the AI are generally fairly open for trades with math after they've had it for awhile.

I almost always build an academy in the highest current city, especially when another scientist will come soon.

Well i wouldnt say always, if another scientist is coming in 11 turns we're only gaining about 120 beakers over that period now if we had something usefull to bulb we'd be gaining substantially more beakers for the tech and trading ability. Such as philosophy/paper etc.
