Putting aside DLC-practices concerns, any hopes/expectations for the two 'Collections' named so far (Crossroads of the World and Right to Rule)?

Just to input the info we have on them from the Civ 7 official website, specifically the Founders Edition sales page (as they are supposed to come free with it):

> Crossroads of the World Collection, with post-launch content featuring 2 new leaders, 4 new civilizations, 4 new wonders, a special cosmetic bonus, and more

> Right to Rule Collection, with post-launch content featuring 2 new leaders, 4 new civilizations, 4 new wonders, a special cosmetic bonus, and more!*

> *The Right To Rule Collection contains 6 DLCs, all of which will be available on or by September 2025 (subject to change). Each DLC will be delivered automatically in-game on release.

Personally, I'm hoping Crossroads of the World will be a Silk-Road-Region focused pack, most especially for Sogdian representation as an Antiquity civ, but that may be too hopeful. Bukhara or the Timurids would be sweet as Exploration civs too.

The 'Right to Rule' Collection is a lot more generic as a name, I guess it could be more of a variety pack focused on advanced political civs? Perhaps some Exploration Divine-Right centric civs, or a Modernity civ focused on diplomatic capital? No clue really.

Anyway, just figured this may be worth some good old baseless speculation and general hopemongering!

Right to Rule could have 2nd versions of a civ in the same era.
(Thinking particularly China and India, since both have been split several times…but could also be like having Second Age Prussia and HRE or Modern Russia and Modern Soviet civs)

Then add some mechanics around government, and the intersection between government and diplomacy (meddling with others government)

Focusing a bit more on Central Asia would be nice. The Crossroads one sounds pretty interesting. Hopefully Afghanistan will be included in some form.

Right to rule makes me think of King James I's quote for Divine Right in Civ VI, so I expect Europe, Age 2. Crossroads of the World is specified in Polish as "Crossroads of the World Trade Routes", and there was a scenario of a similar name in Civ IV. Maybe Ethiopia will be included or maybe something something Silk Road?

Crossroads of the World -> Probably tematically centered in commerce (and explorations). Leaders could be a Merchant/Wealthyman (Mansa, Marco Polo?) and/or a Explorer (Columbus, Marco as well?). Trade-related civs might include Venice, Silk Road civs or east Africa commercial Sultanates. May add for a twist some commercial native americans (Cree? Cheyenne? Comanche?), ¿someone from South America maybe?

Right to Rule -> If Crossroads is centered in commerce/exploration, the name for this one seems to focus on military/religious. Expecting god-supported military commanders or rules (Jeanne? Qin? an Inca maybe?...) and civilizations with a relevant religion-tradition/military component (Poland? Prussia? Franks-Carolingian? Shogunate Japan, if not included in base game?)....

Crossroads of the World seems like it would be a pack geographically associated with the Middle East, and would probably fill in that region.

Right to Rule sounds like it would be kingdoms, maybe focused on Europe.

Those for me sounds like 2-3 DLCs packed together

Probably first real expansion will arrive not before late 2026
I think each of them will be 6 separate DLC releases, based on the description, so 12 total.

*The Right To Rule Collection contains 6 DLCs, all of which will be available on or by September 2025 (subject to change). Each DLC will be delivered automatically in-game on release.

Yes. They are called Collections.
The Crossroads of the World Collection has 2 Leaders and 4 civs.

The Right to Rule Collection also has 2 Leaders and 4 civs.

Also, the fine print for Crossroads says that all content for that collection will be released by September of 2025, subject to change.

So, I would conclude that they are packs of multiple DLCs.

Right to Rule kinda sounds like a "divine right of kings" to me, so could be an Exploration Age-focused set of DLC featuring monarchs and the civs they led.

Side note: spreading 2 leaders, 4 civs, and 4 wonders across 6 DLC is pretty thin. I assume the cosmetic bonus is another fog of war tileset and/or palace skin, although it could be profile badges which are pretty pointless. I'm really hoping the more addendum is doing some heavy lifting here.

Right to rule definitely evokes Mandate of Heaven and Absolute monarchy vibes to me.

I’m confused how there could be four civs each in the packs when there are three ages. Do they not intend to have an equal amount of civs per age after all?

I can see Crossroads of the World including Sogdia and the Swahili maybe. That’s my wishful thinking.

Doesn't it make sense to have more Civs in later ages? Since two ancient era civs could evolve into the same exploration era Civ, it'd be best to give them more options.

In fact I suspect that's why there's a 5 player limit for the 2 earlier ages, and that that limit is probably temporary until more civs are added.

Presuming that every age has 15 civs then that means Crossroads of the World (4) + Right to Rule (4) + Shawnee pre-order bonus (1) = 9 which splits evenly into 3 per age. This would make 18 per age by the end.

Seems to be just additional leaders/civs.

My "hope" would be a custom civ option. That would be far more interesting to me than to get additional civs others have designed/created.

Crossroads absolutely makes me think of the middle east themed pack- personally, I'd love to see the Hittites and one of the sphinx gates as it's associated wonder.

As for Right to Rule, that's a lot harder for me to tell- agree that it'll likely be focused on either medieval kingdoms or the mandate of heaven, though.

In a way isn't that kind of what we're already getting? You play as your own unique empire that takes from your favourite real life civilizations from each era, lead by your favourite historical figure. Really it's the most custom the series has ever been to my knowledge.
