Question about game.

This would be my first civ game i play. In the trailer it showed the animated people moving within the city, Is that how it's going to be in the game or was the just for show? Also are the cities really that detailed?

no that was just a cinematic trailer, all games have them. there are plenty of civ5 reviews on different websites (check the IGN one for a short video) and a demo is out on the 21st to give it a try.
