question about scientific leader

hello peepz, is there any fix(patch) about scientific leaders and broken "Age of scientific research"
In generally what was the idea of this - to make a tech for 3 turns...?
 
No it can not be fixed although some people have claimed it had worked (It might on some weird glitched version). And the purpose would be that all cities produce 25% more beakers. Use them for wonder rushing.
 
I'm guessing it may have caused you to reach techs even in 4 turns at a lower beaker rate, but from what I've read about the whole thing I've never tried it.
 
I have tried it. It doesn't work
 
It does show an increase in beakers and a reduction in turns, but does not actually give it.
