Does it matter what kind of ISP I have in order to set up a wireless network? As I have freaking AOL but don't know if dial up would work for a wireless network(much less what hardware I need ) Is wireless supposed to be this painful BTW?
no, your provider doesn't really matter, since you set the wireless up internally anyway, you will still need your wired modem/router/whatever to access AOL, what you do internaly doesn't really matter to the internet-gateway. setting up wireless isn't that hard, but setting it up properly (securely) takes some time and effort.
AOL dialup is a bit of a different beast, since it doesn't do straight TCP/IP routing so far as I know, and you need the AOL client running. AOL DSL may or may not have the same problems.
AFAIK dual antennas don't improve the signal strength, they just allow more users at the same time, but i'm not sure there. the only thing that would improve strength is a stronger single antenna, IMHO. i would stay with CAT5, they may be low-tech but the things sure are reliable...
