Should Nuclear Power Plants have catastrophic failures after a nuclear strike?

Wait, so Fusion only protects the nuclear plants from radiating randomly? Fusion should remove the chance of them releasing radiation under any conditions.

From a realism point of view, fusion reactors don't currently use radioactive material or make radioactive products, and that's a big reason why we want them.

And the second our fuel and energy stops flowing to the reaction, it stops. So no nuke-triggered boom either.

If real life has any bearing on this I have notice that in this article

the auther notes that a meltdown in not a nuclear explosion, and that the type of materils used is not weapons grade, and therefore can never explode like a ICBM. Not sure how this relates to the game, probably should result in a definate meltdown, not another full scale blast.
