How hard would it be to add a condition to this? I had a thought that involved essentially telling the other Civ "Screw off until...". Conditions could be things like:
1) ...you convert to my state religion
2) ...you have something you want to give me
3) ...you adopt at least three of my civics
Anyone else have other thoughts regarding this?
EDIT: 4) ...you can represent yourself (i.e. stop being a vassal)
