none in both cases. It only works with a State religion. all religious civics need you to be have a state religion to pick up the benefits.

You know what it's called when you flame a newbie for asking a simple question? Bad etiquette, and rude.

If you don't want to answer questions, then stay away from those threads.

Funny, I don't see your name posted as one of the moderators. Where do you get off telling people what they can and cannot post? I'd say it's none of your business. If the mods thought this thread was a waste of space, they'd come in and say so. What you think about it means squat, you're just another poster like the rest of us.

Before seeing it in reference to Civ, i've never used the phrase "vanilla" to describe something plain or bland.

LoL never knew that. I thought it was just a way to show that you were doing an 'ok' job on managing your civ. I might even try and force a couple by building a few more temples in my next games to see if it's really the case. Did it have any effect in any of the previous Civs? Would be great to find out it actually did something besides annoying me because I had to click them all away

Also I just wanted to remind Zombie69 to an old saying: There are no stupid questions, except for the ones that don't get asked. ;)

actually in the old civs it had a much bigger effect... depended on the government though (at least in civ2, dk about civ3). but yes it is for sure no city maintenance that turn. It's in the game manual.

I think this is a great post. And here's my question:

How do you know what techs the AI civs have researched?

click on your foriegn advisor, then on the tech sub category. There should be a list of techs beside your name.. these are techs you have that one or more other civs dont have. Any tech beside one of the other civs is one you dont have

No need to worry. It's not used that way often; the main definition is a particular flavor of ice cream (which, oddly enough, is not "plain" or "bland" at all and should have been called "sweetest ambrosia of the gods" were it not for stupid PC fears about offending monotheists. Incidentally, the "plain" definition comes from the fact that vanilla ice cream was once the "default" flavor.)

Doh, and I had been thinking that "vanilla civ" meant that all the civs in the game were pasty white people and "terra" meant all land mass and no sea.
