You want that settler gone from your territory and when you ask the AI he goes "Sure, sure!" and moves right on?

Do as follows: press F4, contact the guy, ask him to leave. When he agrees, exit the screen, contact him again right away, ask him to leave again. If he agrees, his forces will move automatically. ;)

But do be careful, they will move to the next free square - which could be right where you don`t want them to get to.....

I have tried this using the little 'd' in the bottom right hand part of the screen and it doesn't work. Maybe doing it from the diplomacy screen is different somehow. I have also tried it by right clicking on the unit.

you have to do it without closing the foreign advisor screen. otherwise you are repeating your first demand, not making it twice. stupid programming but that`s the way the entire game is.....

at least this method worked for me but i`m also the one with the suicidal civ so who am i to tell if it will work for you ;)

I hope it works for me. That would definately alleviate my biggest gripe with the game.

oh, btw: if he agrees the first time he won`t declare war the second. so there`s no additional risk...

eyrei: seems we are the only two on the board right now ;)

I have very little to do at work today. Tomorrow I may actually bring civ3.

i usually have lots to do. but i also had civIII so guess when i found al that time to play....... my boss doesn`t check on me ;)

I could even play MP there since we have a permanent internet connection and it never gets above 60% full so who cares....

I just love being a graduate student.....

Ooops, seems that it sometimes doesn`t work. Don`t know why.... I`d say it work 9 out of 10 times. Perhaps it doesn`t when the AI already "decided" to go to war the next turn???
