Okay, I've asked this question before, but search is down so I'll need to ask it again. The Quick Launch icons (bottom left of screen - immediately to the right of the start menu) keep re-arranging themselves into some preset orser, no matter what I do. I've even gone into that folder in Windows Explorer and changed the View settings, but they're not being remembered. I know it's a registry issue, but I can't remember what to do. Can anyone help?

EDIT: OS is Windows XP Professional SP1

Are you talking about the icons that are arranged by the number of times that you use a short cut to open the particular program?

No, he's talking about the small icons next to the Start-button. They've been in Windows since IE4. Although I remember that you asked the question, I don't remember the answer.:(

Try this:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

change "NoSaveSettings" to 00 00 00 00

That didn't work, btw? Should that be decimal or hexidecimal? It had initally said 1 so I'd changed it to 00 00 00 00, but when I go back and look afterwards it says plain 0.
