Quick Questions / Quick Answers

@Viralvoid I checked latest version is from May, so Marbs must be using it.

@Almonds If war is brokered the civ declaring does not have prepared troops on your borders and it takes them some time to attack you full scale. If they have troops it;s not brokered.

How can I tell if a war is declared on me normally, or brokered through another civ?

For brokered war, you sometimes get notified by your spies that civ A pays civ B to declare war on you (I guess diplomat too, but not sure yet). Other way to know that is go to their leader screen. Look for peace button. If the button is not there, brokered war is definitely causing it.

I'm really not convinced. Marbozir's research times are clearly shorter and closer to what I'd expect for epic. Unless there indeed was a change within last month that introduced these long research times (was there?), then it's obviously wrong.
Again. Epic pace was changed recently.

The intended behavior is having all game speeds research technologies on the same date. I know it was changed twice, but I don't know the specifics since I usually play on standard.

That said, if AI is really getting too ahead of you, it could be a bug. Enable AI logging and open an issue in the github place with the logs and a savegame. This is the only way to check if it is really a bug, track it down and solve the problem.

Hm... Why am I unable to create a Citadel here?

This is the simplest way:

If hovering over the war icon shows this message, he has a deal forcing a war for 15 turns. Going to his leader screen should result in no peace button.

If it shows an empty, small black message rectangle instead, they declared war on their own accord.

Mid game happiness; the issue is always science and boredom. I work the specialists, but it's still not enough. On top of that, working the specialists gives me a load of distress unhappiness. What can I do?

Religion can help.

I feel like sometimes if I have a big empire, my enemy is not other civs, but just happiness.

Can I modify something so there's a speed between Standard/Epic? Everything blows by in Standard but Epic is just a little too slow, especially worker improvement speed drives me nuts.

Is there a reason why research agreements by default is turned off? is this not encouraged to play with?

Because tech trading is turned on by default. (Design choice made a long time ago)
VP is balanced for any of the 2, but not both at the same time.
Is it balanced for both turned off? Tech trading seems very exploitable for a human and I don't like research strength agreements.

Hi guys
So I am watching Martin Fencka play Morocco with a VP patch he says is from the 18th of august. How do I get that patch? The one in this forum is from 20th of May :(

Should not be that much a problem.
One of them -> balanced
Both -> Tech will advance quicker than usually
None -> Diplomaty (and maintaining peacefull relation with some civs) will be less important than usually.
