quick way of locating units that are exploring?

So you've built a unit and set it off on an automated explore, how do you locate it in a hurry? The only way I know is a manual search it can be tedious to say the least.

Just look at the world map a the bottom right of your screen and there should be a square in your Civ's colour somewhere random on the map. Click that location and wallah!

Try military advisor (F5 key).

click the show military units button.. helps

Before you set it exploring, assign it a group number, with CTRL-#. Then just press # to find it later.
