I have held off on downloading the Quicktime update so I could avoid having to patch Civ4. I'm curious though, is there any word about the BTS release in relation? Would I be able to install the update, then install the expansion without further issue?

Haha, I dunno...I guess I just didn't feel like dealing with it. Is it just a matter of downloading a patch? Regardless, did Aspyr address the problem with BTS?
You just download the application again, and replace your existing application.
You need to update Quicktime regardless, as the update includes security fixes. When you do, you will need to update Civ4. I would recommend you do so before trying BtS, since I imagine the BtS installer will expect you to have that Civ4 build.
BtS was completed well after the QT 7.6 fix was released. So I'm sure it will include it. It would make absolutely no sense to have to download it again at this point in time!

Yes, BtS will not have any issues with QuickTime.
