Stonehenge gives a free Great Prophet. Great Prophets can only found a religion at Holy Sites or Stonehenge.
Seeing the graphics with the UI, I am totally excited about the new graphics now. Everything looks very sharp and clear. Super impressed with first impressions.
You assign envoys to City-States. You can send multiple envoys to a city-state for greater bonuses. Completing city-state quests earns you envoys.
So TR and Xi'an as Chinese capital (about time!) = GOOD Cleopatra as ruler of Egypt = REALLY REALLY BAD (Looks like first mod will be to make her Hatshepsut, including all the text.)
Yep, still not quite my cup of tea, but that color set is a lot better. UI is beautiful, too. Minimalistic, yet very design-heavy.
It looks even better than I was expecting! - - - - - - - - Qin Shi Huang? - - - - - - - - I'm very happy and excited that they've overhauled the way workers (now "builders") function! Now we won't have sleepy workers littering the map. Before moving on to BE, I wanted to mod this into Civ5, where workers built improvements instantly (like fishing boats and great people) but took a little longer to produce in cities. - - - - - - - - The fog of war effects are very cool and beautiful! - - - - - - - - It also looks like they finally got the mountain generation right (as-in, for gameplay, not realism). I hope it only generates nice ranges to impede movement instead of excessive clumping and blobs of mountains which waste/trap tiles. I'm still warming up to the cliff graphics, though. They look a bit out of place, especially when there's a bunch of them broken up along the coast. Perhaps the hill graphics don't appear elevated enough alongside them; maybe mountains and hills could use slightly more elevation. - - - - - - - - I also love the leader scene style! More focus seems to be on the big, animated leader than their environment, the way I believe it should be. EDIT: Also, perhaps all civs get THREE uniques now; another wish come true! http://franchise.civilization.com/en/news/2016-05-theodore-roosevelt-leads-the-americans-in-civilization-vi/ America: UU = P-51 Mustang UU = Rough Rider UB = Film Studio
YES! I also love how they integrated the wonder movies on the main map. Civ6 appears to put a lot of focus on a beautiful game as well as very clear game mechanics.
If Xi'an is China's capital, I bet you the leader is Taizong (since the Tang had their capital in Chang'an, which is now Xi'an)
Where is that confirmed? All we have is a blurry pic of an icon EDIT: Nevermind, found the article. Darn!
I guess we will be able to set the time of day to our liking (as rumored). Look closely at the end of turn button...
UI looks tolerable; certainly the fog of war is good though the transition between it and the revealed map is a bit jarring right now. Event log isn't too bad TR looks surprisingly un-terrible on the leaderscreen, though a tad on the Civ Rev side of things (the background's cool, though.) The dynamic research seems intriguing, as does this more dynamic culture research. Resource icons are pretty decent. Still needs some desaturation and a few other graphics reworks, but Civ VI might actually be playable.
Man, I really love the part about Gossip and Diplomacy. If it plays as good as it sounds then that could be a LOT of immersion mixed with gameplay.
I have to say that what I heard in the video it heard much better then I anticipated. I really liked that they kind of backed off on the graphics to more cleaner map that is more "readable" to strategize. Removing global hapiness - great! Not removing 1upt - not so great I really wasn't very fond of the mechanic. But my biggest pet peeve with civ V was diplomacy and the way AI behaved like bunch of crazy mofos... so will hold my breat until we hear more about the diplomacy and the way player can interact/manipulate civs, because that was a game in the game in civ iv and I really loved that.
City state mechanic sounds great . Looks like quests are still on but the new mechanic makes it a lot less gamey
I hope they fix the font that's being used in modal windows and tooltips. It's not as good as Civ V's - looks like a cheap mobile game as it is now.
Few things I picked up from the video(s): - tiles have an appeal rating, e.g. the coastal ones are "breathtaking" - continents have names that appear in tooltips - rivers can have deltas - the tooltips for tiles in a city show "W of cliff" and "N/W of cliff", no idea why - there is a housing limit/score? building a plantation adds 0.5 to 'housing' - resources: cows/milk, rice (looks like chopsticks to me) - research boosts (requirements shown at top-left) Writing - meet another civ Ancient Empire - grow to 6 pop Military Tradition - clear a camp Irrigation - farm a resource Code of Laws - ? Foreign Trade - discover 2nd continent - builders can rush wonders - Projects? e.g. "Holy Site Prayers"
