It's true. We tried using a lot of speedbumps as a substitute but that didn't work.

Now there's muslims and speedbumps everywhere :(

It doesn't look the slightest bit like the Netherlands.

    Thanks for the link

I think it's quite a nice piece of art to be honest.

From the article: "If only the Netherlands were in hell. At least it's warm and generally dry there."

Anyway if they think this is disgraceful wait till the Chezheh presidency continues. Then you'll see some real disgracefulness.

No, I think you do. The only way you could think that looks anything like the Netherlands is if you've been using too much of that country's product.

It looks like the Netherlands from the eastern side, with a good deal of perspective. The Dutch people around here seem to get it fine.

What's really great about this is that this installation scored a great success among the people. Even journalists love it - there was a loud "booo!" from the audience when Cerny announced they he will remove some parts if the countries ask him to do that, they encouraged him to leave it as it is  - people were stopping by just to look at it and except few politicans and diplomats, nobody thought it was offensive or (sheesh  ) racist.

In other words, most people, even the hated eurocrats, are not some touchy-feely politically hypercorrect censors. On the other hand, politicans are PC heavy cowards who would rather cut their finger off than to do something bold or, God forbid, provocative. Our gov. got EXACTLY what it was asking for.

So, to whom should anybody apologize? To a tiny bunch of humourless hypocrites? Most people seem to like it, so what's really disgraceful here? Isn't the fact that their representatives can't take a joke a bit disconcerting? :p
Hehe, how did you work that out?? :p
Easy: the word "racist/racism" has lost its meaning, it is now used more as a common insult. So instead of saying "you're a moron", I can as well say "you're a racist!" - especially when you point out my ethnicity

Brave new politically correct world, don't you like it? :p

I don't think its racist, but I think it it is in bad taste really. Fine if somebody put it in a satirical magazine or an ordinary art gallery (though I don't think its that funny anyway), but not for representing your country in some big EU exhibition.

Bad taste? I think that Europe really needs to confront stereotypes. It doesn't represent a particular country, it sends a message.

It's sad that the representatives of some countries are so insecure that they feel offended by a caricature of their national stereotype. They should be happy that someone's trying to fight them :shake:
