I really thought it was funny. Great stuff, kudos to the czechs.
It's rubbish, pure and simple. If it was not paid for by EU taxpayers' money, that's a bit better, but since Cerny has admitted it was all done by himself
I can see the need to poke fun at European stereotypes, but his explanation of it is just ridiculous and tawdry. It's just cheap.
He would have shocked more by doing something more conservative and less preachy. As it stands it is bad art, racist and not something I would like to see in my government's waiting rooms - even if it wasn't paid for by me.
Let's see if you can actually explain how making fun of stereotypes makes one racist - go ahead
Finally someone who has seen DUMBO!
website of fictional Polish artist : http://netpolski.com/leszek-hirszenberg/work.htm
That song is fantastic.
Is this a serious question? He's Finnish....
Er, no, it's the Netherlands if you were looking at the country from the east.
Belgium is just a box of pralines. that's not really shocking of funny..
Why does the Netherlands one have spires with Islamic crescents?
because it's being overrrun by the muslim hordes, obviously
Well, I thought that was happening in all of Western Europe.
yeah, but the netherlands first (probably because they have no hills to protect them )
Well they could open the levees and drown the Saracens. Looks like that's what they tried to do in that sculpture.
It's a well known fact that Muslims are afraid of hills. In fact I carry one around with me just in case I am confronted by a Muslim.
I would think it was racist if I was Bulgarian.
So something isn't racist unless it depicts something with which you identify in an unflattering light?
People should really learn the definition of the word 'racist' before casually throwing it around.
Just because you find something offensive, doesn't make it 'racist'...
I personally didn't mind the 'work of art' here. It was interesting to look at, and it seems that the artist got what he wanted.
You mean Bulgarian isn't a race? You are so observant! Thanks!
