One of the biggest 'elephants in the room' is the total absence of an implementation of the railroads in Civ6.

Could this be combined with the corporation idea from Civ4? Because the railroads and concentration of capital happened around the same time in the U.S. and definitely ushered in a new era.

To abstract this out entirely is just silly.

Building railroads should be an option available to the Engineer unit once you hit the Industrial Age.

...and the Great Engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel should automatically create railroads between all cities in your civ that are over a certain population threshold. :D

There have been some threads about this topic already.

I think a neat solution would be to make railroads require a building and if you have it in two neighboring cities, you can build a project that creates a railroad between those two, giving production and gold bonuses that are related to the districts and resources in those cities. Maybe a movement bonus from city to city.
This could also happen in combination with new mechanics, like corporations.

Yeah I would love to see an implementation of corporations especially since multiple copies of strategic resources are largely worthless now (besides local production boosts to the city that works the tile). It's too abstracted for my liking.

I like the idea of adding a railway yard to the industrial zone as an alternative to the factory, if you have a trade route between 2 cities with railway yards the trader could then "embark" into a train and "build" a railway line between them. Similar to a trader transforming into a ship when embarking into a harbour/city.
