Some time ago I had described my problems with C2C stability. I have tried suggested tips: 3 GB switch, viewports and low Graphic settings but the result was only temporary. This was until I have read the post

Recently I have upgraded my system: I expanded my RAM from 3 to 4 GB (the effects would be rather marginal because Win XP 32 bit can see only 3,5 GB and it had already 4,5 GB swap) *and* installed a 64-bit OS (Win 7 Home Premium 64, at a different partition). The result: C2C runs smoothly at Medium graphic settings, even without viewports (maybe I will need to switch them on at a later stage).
