random CTD Rhy'es and fall

i start the Rhye's and fall mod (included with BTS) and select the roman empire

after several turns the game gives a CTD (the turns vary from test tot test)

doesn't crash for me - is there anything one can do to trigger it? or is there a certain number of turns to play (I just played 15 turns...)
