Here is the last save i had before crashing to desktop.

Edit

I have a fully updated computer and patch 3.13 for BtS and patch e for FFHII. For some reason my game randomly crashes to the desktop. I think every time I've crashed i was doing something diplo related.

My system specs are as follows:
Windows Vista SP1
Dell Xps720
Intel Core 2 Extreme Overclocked to 3.66ghz, Quadcore
4gb physical ram
Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra (sli enabled)

Do you have the Sylfaen font in your C:/windows/fonts directory?

Can you try unzipping the attached files in your "Fall from Heaven 2 032\Resource\Themes\Civ4" directory and see if it resolves your issue?

Nope, still Crashing, and no error file this time, at least, no new ThemeParseLog was created.

I suppose its good we resolved those errors, even if they aren't causing your crash. But I dont know what to tell you. We just had the Vista error that is fixed in patch "e". And User App control has been known to cause issues like this. I dont know what to look for outside fo that.

Well, I disabled Uac from day one with Vista, so I'm quite stumpted also. Im sure vista is the problem though. Thanks very much for the help Kael.

I'm having a similar crash in the last game I played. The game started crashing to desktop every couple of turns starting around turn 200 and getting more and for frequent, and now on turn 240 it crashes every turn. The crash happens after I hit end turn and gives a windows error message:

I'm using a current version of vista with a fresh install of civ 4/bts/ffh2031 with patch e

Looks like the same error I am having. I am reinstalling currently, but this is after playing several games successfully. (Steam install)

Specs in profile.

[edit]

this is with 3.13 unofficial patch-- I remember when I overwrote the DLL in the gamefiles that I did it in two places because the Steam installation is confusing, so i'm actually reinstalling each game as well in case Vista doesn't agree.

I did reinstall just FFH2 first, with media pack and E patch. I turned off Hell Terrain and this time it was a CTD instead of having to alt-tab and find that the game was not responding.

I'm also running a second monitor, so I'm wondering if I need to disable it during gameplay. I will update further.

I am getting the same error also.

Fresh install of Civ4 and expansions from disk. Fresh install of FFH, FFH media pack and patch e.

AH HA! I can repeat the errror. I crashed twice last night in 2 different games. It happened when the giant red dragon spawned in barbarian cities
( I forget his name).

I would get the message he spawned then whammo, strait to desktop:eek:. He is truely a great adversary:mischief:.

same thing to me, but while playing rise of manking + revolution mods
the first four erros are easily fixed by removing the double slashes (comment) before the font style definitions (i wonder why they were commented in the first place... looks kind of dumb)
the second error, and the ones i couldnt fix are the ones in the Civ4Theme_HUD file... some slacker forgot to end a command with a ; so, theorically, all one had to do is add a ; after .Default and the game should work fine.... but that didnt happened. This happened in two games i was playing this week, and it's frustrating. Weird is that the same file has the variable definitions right in the vanilla edition while in the BTS version they had these wrong.
