Seniority is pretty par for the course, I've found, when hiring internally. It's why I don't really care if a company hires externally for a managerial position. There's at least some chance that the person being hired is actually competent, then.

    up yours.
I've been reading every strip of Dilbert as a side project for fun (I need to max out my cynicism stat). You… you read as if you were a cross of Dilbert and Wally (seriously). As long as you don't become Dogbert or Alice we'll be fine, I suppose.

Just give her a trigger warning and send her the stories as-are. To not do so would, I feel, be insincere. Let your aunt decide for herself if the content/subject matter isn't something she wants to read.

I mean, hyper-religious old-timers aren't really in on the whole trigger warning thing... they're more in on the "how dare you be blasphemous" thing.

Just call it a "Explicit Content" warning or rate it TV-MA or R or M or something and they're okay with it, even if it's just a different kind of trigger warning.

Thank you for the suggestion, Owen, but Vincour is right in thinking that my aunt wouldn't get the "trigger warning" reference. Her life is all about home, cats, the church, and her missionary work. Her husband (I've never met him; he's her second husband, so I don't really think of him as my uncle) is a minister.

She's the aunt who decided I should go to Sunday school at a Pentecostal church when I was 8. When my dad found out, he hit the roof. He was not pleased.

I've thought it over and decided to tell her (truthfully) that the stories aren't edited yet and still need work, and I do think I should give her the option of whether or not she wants to read a science fiction or RPG story or if I should find something else.

I realize that I might be fretting over nothing. My aunt is the most religious one in the family, but she's not as super-critical as my mother was. I just don't want to accidentally start anything that could turn unpleasant.

It is very cold here. -7 to -10 these days. Sucks...

    Celsius, obviously. The civilized metric.

Dve Mogili's tourist attractions: Bulgaria's second largest cave. Trump would not be impressed.

I got my blood test results back. In a year's span, my C Reactine has jumped from 4.5 to 12.4 mg/L. I'm at nearly twice the level for "significant inflammation/infection".

I wouldn't be shocked if my IBS has turned into IBD after 7 years, but there are a few other boogeymen conditions that are "common" for levels this high. Can't say I'm pleased about any of the options.

I am hoping it is just an isolated thing (or a mistake) and it'll sort itself out. But in the meantime I expect a phone call from the medical program on Monday about this over what comes next.
