I thought it was Sunday when I woke up....
I wished it was Sunday when I woke up.
Rant/Rave: That security guard with the bad attitude that I mentioned earlier? Yeah, he's gone. He calls me on my desk phone to ask me to let him into the building. I ask him why and he tells me it's because he lost his badge. Not that he left it at home, but straight up lost it. Now, as I mentioned earlier, this is a classified facility so these access badges are kind of important. I let him in and he worked his shift, but I had to report his lost badge and disable all of its access privileges in our system. Well, losing a badge like that is a fireable offense. The word came down a few hours ago. I just knew this guy wouldn't last long. Can't say I'm sorry to see him go.

So the rave part of this is obviously that I'm happy an incompetent employee was fired before he could cause any serious problems. The rant part is it just boggles my mind how incompetent some people can be. Him losing that badge could have put the facility at risk. I mean, who knows how much time passed from the time he lost it to the time he actually reported it to me?
Don't you have some sort of screening process there? Previous interviews, tests, discreetly sneak in a psychologist/HR expert into the room, etc.?

I would assume so. I wouldn't know for sure though since I'm not involved in the hiring process. I just sort of supervise the guards once their hired (on top of my other duties).

My day.

I was going to say ‘the desk’.

I thought it was fine. Although I've never really cared much about the trailers when it comes to civ as they're not based on in-game stuff. When will the reviews start coming in?

It wasn't fine. Only two references to ancient Greece, of which one is maimed (the strange Colossus of Rhodes thing, covered with something to not offend kids, having a barbarian's face, holding a stupid cup???), the other is passing (the meander pattern in the clothing of the bearded guy).
Also not getting why the second scene is immediately the Great Wall, ie millenia afterwards.

The main issue is lack of Greece, though :)
Oh, and also: terrible characters, cheesy, very dull in a forced PC way, the winged hussar seems to stop in the middle of the battle so as to stare at the enemy, the beardo is in all roles other than the very end when his wife is the astronaut cosmonaut allocosmonaut.

But (to be more serious), the music theme is the worst.

Just because you think Greece is the center of the universe doesn't mean it actually is the center of the universe. Other civilizations exist too, you know.

Well, yes. I was mostly having fun with the Greece comments, given there is next to no reference to most other civs (and the "Colossus" seems to be alluding to the statue of liberty with its peculiar spiked head-gear :/ ) ;)

About the only good thing in the trailer for Civ VI was Sean Bean's voice. The rest is really bad imo :/ The theme is very forgettable.
Perhaps there's a minimod in which we have to keep his character alive?

He did say he was not being serious.

But, if you include 'Murikuh rather than Greece as an Ancient Age civ… then surely we can't be talking seriously.

And on the fifth day, God created 'Murca #1, and it was good. He had to create the number one just to describe how good it was.

And in the first day, God realised Murca was already there, and created number #1 so that it had something to play with while he completed creation.

But 'Murca is #1, so, if ‘Murca was playing with #1…
