Random Raves 54: You will succeed. It is inevitable.

Rugby World Cup:

Scotland have a cave troll.

No, wait, sorry, that's Richie Gray (6'10"/208cm).

Pakistan-India got washed away due to rain (again). Someone on Twitter quipped they could just have an aquatic competition to decide the match.

That should strictly speaking go to the Sports Talk forum but there doesn't seem to be any cricket thread, and I'm not going to start one myself. Never could get into the game. Can't even read the score to tell who's winning.

Yeah, if you don't even follow the sport, I don't see how it's a rave.

Well, if I did follow the sport, it would be more of a Rant.

It seemed appropriate to mention it here anyway. Didn't realise the match was today when I posted about it yesterday (or was it the day before?)

Browser blocking tools can be used in forums to literally erase (for you) everything by selected users. This is just excellent ^^

Be wary about blocking moderators, because if you don't follow mod text because it was posted by someone you blocked, you will still face any consequences from that.

Doesn't CFC disallow blocking moderators? It did so when we were on vBulletin.

I believe that CFC's native software forbids it, but we can hardly police what external plugins a user chooses to employ.

Seems my only choices are to give you a present (?), unfollow you, or start a conversation.

So... Hi, Arakhor, how are you?

:crazyeye:

I'm good, thank you. The Gift button is to give someone supporter status for one or more years, though it should probably disable that if the selected person already is a permanent supporter.

I got back from a holiday to Perth/Fremantle recently. It was pretty good. Lots of new experiences.

My flat is being renovated for first time. Such an interesting event - to start an academic year, but being put on hold for 1 month till my work office is done.

I plan to read Norwegian literature, take long walks, write some poetry and draw.

I established a Creative School with a friend of mine this autumn. We have classes once two weeks. In opening one I taught Origami. We had 8 people (it was a public event, but we spent zero on ads).

Edit - next Monday my friend will teach water painting. We will also have to pay for heating and electricity, but since the house belongs to another friend we don't have to pay rent. It is the first time establishing something new and I was really excited. In upcoming months we will have improvisation class with musical instruments, Plasticine class and Graffiti class.

Also I started going to amateur theater lessons. It is quite fun to learn about your voice, your gestures and how to learn new mannerisms for new roles.

It was originally Arakhor who was maybe supposed to get the present, but I decided not to give him one, and just say hello instead.

I actually don't.

Maybe my brain is blocking out a painful memory or something.
Probably so. It might come to you at some point; if not, doesn't matter. :)

I managed to win a fight with the telecom. I got an email this morning informing me that I owed them an insane amount of money, and I wondered wtf happened to my internet charges - they were over 3 times higher than they should have been. I don't go anywhere near my data cap, and the residents in this building are supposed to have a discount.

I lucked out with a helpful customer support agent, who did some investigating. It was an error on their part, so I've been credited with over half the amount they wanted me to pay. The difference equals a month's groceries.

I also managed to talk the leasing agent into reducing the coming rent increase by half. It took a weird bit of logic over a parking space that I'm not using even though it's part of my lease and the manager wants to give away to another tenant, reminding him that I've lived here over 10 years (which makes me one of the longer-term people here; most of the ones who lived here more years have either died or moved to nursing homes), and diabetes isn't a cheap thing to live with.

Ooh. Ooh, ooh, ooh.

Spotify just sent me an early access code to buy Chelsea Wolfe tickets for next March, downtown.

March is ridiculously far away, but I have no idea how quickly these are likely to sell out. I don't think I know anybody who's into her, and I don't mind going to concerts alone, but should I buy 2 anyway, just in case? Hmm...

Be hopeful and buy two.

You might meet someone in the meantime, and if not, you could sell the extra one.

(never heard of this person, but you can't be the only fan around)
