Ah, so you're roughly the same age as the main character in my King's Heir game novelization project, which also takes place in the early 11th century. The story takes place in an alt-universe British Isles sort of way, but since that character's family name is German and there are influences from lots of other countries, would you like to make a cameo appearance in my story? :king: :D

My aunt was more emotional about my turning 50 than I was.

I don't get why some people are ashamed of their ages. Mind you, I suppose it doesn't bother me as much as people consistently underestimate my age by 10-12 years. It's handy that I still look like my only photo ID that was taken in 1987 (only differences are minor variation in hairstyle and I'm not currently wearing glasses).

I tell them it helps to not have had the stress of husband and kids. :p

I've been watching a lot of hockey. One benefit of the bubble cities is that you can start watching in the morning and then basically have hockey going the remainder of the day. Which is what I've been doing, except for the Phoenix/Colorado and Washington/New York series.

I assume that you saw my picture, then. If you did, you obviously missed the crow's feet. :p

Yes, I have been blessed with good genes and I look much younger than I am. (People often mistake me for early 40's) It was a real pain when I was younger when I looked in my teens when I was in my 20's and trying to go to the clubs, but I am certainly not complaining about it now. I think staying fit has a lot to do with it, though lord knows, I don't get enough sleep. Ever.

Yes I saw Your picture (You were looking good, a little angry perhaps. Indeed I didn't noticed crow's feet but even my 21 yo friend has them) and therefore I contest Your statements and respectfully demand :mischief: more pictures in a forum members photographs or "it didn't happen" and You're still under 40 ;)

I drifted my car on a wet freeway exit ramp and ended up doing a 180 into oncoming traffic. It wasn't neato at all. Scared the piss out of me. When I came to stop, one of those oncoming cars came to a stop too, less than a foot from me. We both pulled over in a parking lot and talked about our experience. I thanked him a lot.

Crows feet add dimension and gravitas to the blandness of youthful smoothness. In addition, they act as pointers to sparkling beauty of your eyes when you smile. Cherish them. :)

I must confess to being annoyed when that pic was taken. The woman wearing black in the foreground was giving us a lecture of sorts.

    Awww. You're so sweet. :)

It was beautiful. You're like a poet ^^ Maybe one day if I practice long enough I'll be as good as You Ye ol' charmer ! ;)

I might try with a pseudo-poem of my own , here goes nothin' ! :

    "Who's that Lady"
    Hairs like silk
    Eyes like a hawk
    Skin like soft milk

    What she's up to ?
    Where she's been ?
    She claims to be fifty
    But looks like fifteen !

    :D

One hockey game is my limit. I can't imagine watching it all day, not even for the Olympics, and I enjoy Olympic hockey more than the NHL (not as much fighting allowed).

Subscribing to BBC Earth has helped me cope with all this, though. I can binge watch 9-10 hours at a time of David Attenborough, Brian Cox, and other documentary series/hosts. At least two nights/week there are astronomy/space-related shows and even though I've seen some of them half a dozen times, I still enjoy them. There's one series in which Chris Hadfield and a couple of others run aspiring astronauts through some really grueling tests to see which of them has what it takes to formally apply for training. Some of them are tasks that at first seem like they have nothing whatsoever to do with being in space, but it's really a test of the candidates' ability to think about multiple complex things at the same time while carrying out a task that, if done incorrectly in space, you could end up dead.

I've just realized that All Creatures Great and Small is on Sunday on PBS. My grandmother loved that show; she couldn't care less about Peter Davison; she just liked the animals.
