Meanwhile some guy in NJ is making a similar rave somewhere.....
Less than I expected to pay. The IRS has no expectations at this point.
After eating way too much on vacation, I decided to get back on my 1200-1500 cal/day diet. I like it.
Actually, the trick is to get the vaccine and avoid being around sick people, not to mention avoiding touching public surfaces like door handles, elevator buttons, pay phones (there still are some of those around) without washing ASAP afterward.
Flu shots used to cost $15 for adults not in any of the 'at-risk' categories. That's why my mother turned her nose up at it, but I got mine for free. Several years of outbreaks and people dying convinced the health authorities to offer the shots to everyone for free now. I just went to one of the local pharmacies and had it done.
Oh, I wash my hands and so on, don't worry. Even so, mistakes sometimes happen.
I was in Island City Mall yesterday. Plastic bags are gone; they have been replaced by paper bags.
Any rain @Zkribbler
I've just been told that I'm getting $100 off my electricity bill for this month (actually for last month, since I spent most of February wrapped in 5 layers of clothing including a fleece housecoat, wearing socks and gloves to bed, freezing in spite of having a borrowed space heater running when I could get one [had to share with the neighbors as they have a new baby]). The reason why it was so cold is due to insufficient insulation in my suite and a couple of others on this side of the building on this floor (which is a very big deal when it's -50C outside). Since that is totally not my fault and I did everything reasonable to keep warm (plus everything reasonable to keep my electricity bills down normally), the rental company agreed that instead of $138, they'll only charge me $38.
Thank goodness, because that extra $100 would have wrecked my food and transportation budget for April.
Starting yesterday, we were supposed to get 2 1/2 days of rain, We got 1.
Cry for the poor rice farmers.
Rave: My mother got me a Toblerone bar at the grocery store. I'm not sure why she's being nice suddenly but I'm not going to turn down a Toblerone.
Never look a gift horse in the chocolate.
My mother never buys me Toblerone. I wasn't annoyed about that until now.
Toblerone isn't even good so that's not much of a loss, Soft Biscuit Abomination.
This is your new nickname. Accept your fate with grace pls.
I like short bread.
I prefer my bread lengthy.
I prefer my bread in Möbius loops.
Infinite bread surface is too much carbs.
