One of my former co-workers is a co-host on the SpaceX launch live stream stream now. Super stoked for her.

Yeah I was shocked to see her and then shocked this was only her first time hosting because she is doing so well.

Isn't... what she does as a day job more impressive and satisfying that being a TV presenter anyway? Particularly when it's just an online stream?

For me personally, no. I used to work with her doing the same job so it's not especially impressive to me. But I never got to present and would not be able to do it half as well as she did so I am impressed by that. It is actually pretty hard to get selected to do that, they don't let any schlep on the livestream.

    Friday!

I can't decide what game to play this weekend. I may hold off on Path of Exile until the new expansion goes live. I have a Civ VI: Gathering Storm game as Sweden going, but I've already reached the point where I normally quit because I was just going to press End Turn a bunch of times as I coasted to victory. About halfway through, the Gathering Storm changes and additions don't seem to have had much impact. Maybe it does something dramatic in or to the last 1/3rd of the game (the end-game was always a slog before, which is why I never finished any of my games), but I'm almost nervous to keep playing and find that the expansion didn't really change a thing.

I'm not sure if this is a rant or a rave: Popular culture seems to be turning the corner from 1980s nostalgia and into 1990s nostalgia. Captain Marvel takes place in the early '90s; Elisabeth Moss' new movie performance seems to be a thinly-veiled version of Courtney Love; Amy Poehler is doing a film adaptation of the novel "Moxie", about a dissatisfied 16-yr-old girl who stumbles upon her mother's past life as a "Riot Grrl" punk-rocker and adopts some of it for herself (Poehler will be directing, I wonder if she'll also be playing the mom); and Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter start filming Bill & Ted Face the Music this Summer. I don't know if I'm ready for the early '90s to be exhumed, but I guess nobody's asking me...

You know you want to add to your scarab stash exile or delve another 20 levels deeper. You know you do. Wraeclast is calling. At a minimum go prepare your standard stash for all the inflows from Betrayed. I'm dressing up my new Sunspire hideaway.

Rave: I've made a little money by doing online surveys. It's not a lot but it'll help for saving up for a damage deposit on an apartment.

But I guess I should turn off the GOG newsletter, or I might end up spending it all on games. I'm not always the best with impulse control.

I am a notoriously slow mathemateer. I wonder how I would fair on a shot of adderall or dexedrine or something.

    *fare

Why not trying doing mathematics at 4:30 Australian time from Norway? That might be better.

I'm prone to procrastination at all hours I'm afraid.

That's one of your best qualities, but one must still procure sustenance. Also, mathematics is a great way to annoy people.

Small rave: I found a new gallery plugin for the website that is a lot nicer than the current one.

Completed another manuscript proofread. Yay, more experience!

Somewhat disappointingly, it's looking like I'm sauntering my way into non-fiction specialization instead of the fiction specialization I was originally hoping for. It's what I'm getting all of my work in. :( Year's still young, I suppose, so that could change.

It might help if you have trouble maintaining focus, but I doubt it would help at all if you don't love maths.

You're making a determined effort to imitate my life.

    The horror…
