Random Thoughts 2: Arbitrary Speculations

I have never had a Steam account.

How do I get one?
You just have to register with a valid email account. Well, and you have to pay for the non-free games.

Well, of course the non-free games have to be paid for... I'm used to the Big Fish Games site, where members can get some pretty nice discounts with strategic use of punch card codes and other bonuses and sales. I rarely pay full price for any games there anymore.

I should have been more precise: Would someone please post a relevant link for Steam?

Be careful with Steam, Valks, after all, they are after your money and they do have the type of wares which you like.

I'm not sure what games you'd like but I do have quite a few unused or duplicate steam codes from humble bundles to get you started, valka, if you'd like.

Like Shoppe Keep, for example!

Don't we have a thread for that?

@Valka: check if there's anything interesting there. I'm containing myself for the time being, lest I do something silly.

But Takhisis, you're the silliest of us all!

My list in the above thread has been updated, but I haven't made a post about it because I'm likely adding more in a couple days when the next batch of Humble Monthly stuff unlocks.

I KNOW! I have half a dozen recently acquired games I haven't even begun playing yet, except for running them once to check whether they work at all! And I have some on my personal .txt wishlist already!

I took a quick browse around the site, and other than Civilization and a few other similar games, I've never heard of most of the others.

I know what I like on the Big Fish Games site. I have no idea what I like on Steam.

Thanks.

I'm into hidden object games and match-3 that have some sort of coherent story behind them... and that are not just a lot of blood/guts/gore. I had to give up on the Ravenhearst series because it got too stomach-turning with the imagery.

Jigsaw puzzles and mosaics are also favorite kinds of games. Very tame stuff compared with what you folks are into, by the sound of it.

You won't find a lot of those on Steam. Good ones, anyways. At least, I've never come across any.

Valka, look for Hex-a-hop if you like puzzle games. No gore, no story, just puzzles. Trust me.

oh, and last time I checked it was for free. It should still be so.

If there's a good jigsaw puzzle game on Steam, I'd be very interested in knowing about it.

Found it! Hex-a-hop - not jigsaw, but still a hell of a puzzle game. Just try it.

:mischief:

By the way, what is your avatar now? It looks like two pens with "Ossian" written beneath them.

Oh, seriously, I've explained it elsewhere. It's the logo for Ossian and I'll get a better version later today.

Also seriously, you need more heavy metal in your life, Syn. And to change your username back.

Which reminds me you need moar bagpipes.
