I bought one of those uber-small pendrives. I can't believe a thing this small can hold 30 GB.

My first MP3 player held 32mb. It was.....less than useful. No idea what happened to it.

If the object itself was smaller than an 8-track tape it’d make sense

Meanwhile i just used my Panasonic CD-MP3 player.......that thing was awesome, until it got dropped in the toilet, never quite worked right after that.

And the thumb drive in my pocket is 128 gig.
I'm over 60 so 1 remember those 20 pound 7 disc 256mg platters that you screwed into disc drives that looked like washing machines.
I am impressed with each new innovation.

Ah, but . . . I have an MP3 player from before they realized that they wanted you to buy a new whole device every time you wanted more storage. It allows the insertion of an SD card.

Now, it's interface is minimal, so moving around among the songs that larger SD cards hold is a bit of a hassle.

But theoretically, I can indefinitely update the storage on this MP3 player for nothing more than the price of a new SD card.

You know what's really amazing? Those micro-drives are barely a fraction of what you see outside. The actual hardware is like half the size of one of your fingernails.

oh, but I only know this because my beautiful 16gb micro enclosure split in half because it was such cheap plastic. never had this problem with traditional flash drives.

New kid on the block. :p My first computer had only 4,000 bytes of memory; input was via an audio tape. :old:

Yeah, actually i was into mainframes at work and was indeed a little slow on the home front, Commodore 64 was my first, but it had an audio tape drive also.

I'm not that old, but I do remember booting up dos and games coming on a half dozen 5 inch floppies and having to switch them at certain levels. Then when the 3.5s came out that held more you could get that down to one or two. It was revolutionary man!

I do remember not our first pc but I think our first pentium in like 1990 and then at some point we upgraded from 8 mb of ram to 16 so I could play the newest xwing game which I think was xwing vs tie fighter circa 95.

Most mouthwash products contain an unreasonably high amount of alcohol.
Somewhere on the label they tell you to spit it out .
