The concept of a musical aria is transplanted from Italian into Russian as ‘Ария’ which is often retransliterated into Latin characters as ‘Ariya’. Hence their name often being (mis?)spelled.

Only in certain threads. I popped back to TrekBBS to see what was going on, and there were about 60 pages since I'd last been to that one particular thread. Even though I've got half the people in that section of the forum on ignore, that would still take too long to read.
