Google's ‘unsend’ option might be their only smart decision in the past decade.
Hm, I have now read 4/5 of Goethe's Faust, and it seems quite terrible.
Maybe Nietzsche/Schopenhauer are just right and germans are way too fond of lowly theological empty thoughts.
Today is the day the original Blade Runner is set on. One problem I had with that movie was how wet and rainy LA was portrayed as being.
Well today of all days it's raining in LA. First decent rain of the wet season as well.
The survey site just added an odd prescreening question, giving me a huge laundry-list of famous authors and telling me to pick which ones I've read books from.
If they're anything like the survey provider I used years and years ago, they often use the pre-screening questions to source future surveys. Sometimes brands/clinics have really hyper-specific requirements, and some of these arbitrary questions can put you in a statistic they want to hear from. Sometimes this is effectively academic astrology, sometimes it makes some interesting correlations.
That makes sense.
The frustrating thing is that once in a while, despite the prescreening questions, I get surveys I'm not eligible for. And often I don't realize until I'm partway through it. So I have to return it.
Prolific.co actually added a recent feature where if you return a survey, it asks you why. I assume this is because of this issue.
I had a dream last night where Pavel Bure stole my cell phone.
I had a dream last night where my landlord tried to bring a date into the house I lived in junior year of college and I totally ruined it for him
Perhaps Pavel Bure is like the Freddy Krueger of minor theft?
I had a dream last night where I was skipping class in high school (??? I graduated almost a decade ago) and accidentally released Godzilla from the janitor's closet.
I wish to purchase the film rights to this. Name your price.
A bunch of cookies?
That must have been a very large closet (not to mention inconvenient for the janitor).
Will jaffa cakes do?
I had a dream where the Leafs had a >.500 win percentage and had a >25% chance of making the playoffs.
Alas, dreams are merely dreams.
Remember the Leafs motto: one day we'll all be dead and none of this will matter. (Taps the sign on the way out of the locker room)
*Babcock voice* We just gotta stay steady on the rudder and keep grinding. I always bet on Mike Babcock and I'll keep betting on him.
*Mike Babcock proceeds to lose that bet six games in a row and counting*
Great video about it, tbh. Even if you don't like Dangle.
*shakes fist at @Timsup2nothin*
A lot of authors are worried about AI. They shouldn't be.
Edit: You get the next thread, Aimee!
