Rank the four victory conditions from hardest to easiest on higher AI difficulties?

Philly,
I'm guessing the easiest is domination, because the AI is bad at combat, but interested in what everyone else thinks, and the order of all four.

I'm playing at Settler Governor and finding Culture Victory to be impossible because there aren't enough artifacts. I've got eleven, but it seems pretty unlikely I can find four more.

Do you know if you can capture other player's artifacts by taking the cities in which they are slotted?

As per the original question, I have only been struggling with the exploration age science victory. That seems quite difficult atm. Bit I still am getting used to optimising district and building placement.

I was playing as Confucius, so it was trivial of me. I couldn't do the Economic Treasure fleets, even though I prioritized it I just managed the first achievement,

in my first game, I tried for treasure fleets & managed to compleye the military legacy without really trying to… but still didn’t finish treasure fleets 🤷
Me too. I got the military legacy by settling and picking the belief that converts found settlement. Only built a couple of ships for exploration.

I'm not a huge fan of culture. The AI seems to push it hard, and the hegemony civic is very easy to beeline. So you pretty much have to race for it if you want to win it, and I'be found in general by turns 50-60 of modern the culture competition is effectively over.

Dominance which is relatively easy, then economic which is pretty fun and not too bad, then cultural where you’re at the mercy of the RNG a bit, then scientific which is very hard to finish before you win on score from future tech.

In my first game (difficulty n.4/6) I've found cultural victory extremely easy. There were plenty of artifacts and the more buildings I built the more I found the event that let you lose culture but get an artifact. I had 15 even before the egemony civics, without conquering cities with artifacts to the AI. It's only one match, but winning in like 55 turns from the beginning felt way to easy and made me thought it should be balanced

I did, but that honestly doesn't help. I'm not interested in warring my way to a culture victory; I like Culture Victory because traditionally it's the most peaceful way to play. I really don't like how CV has been handled in Civ7 (building wonders is fine--the relics/artifacts are not).

Yeah, I got National History early and beelined Hegemony, but I was still unable to get more than 13 artifacts. I ended up winning an Economic Victory.

It depends a lot on your situation, but I find culture to be the easiest by far (very quick), economy/military about the same depending on what you are geared up for and science to be a complete snooze fest with how long it takes to get everything done.

Same here. Got up to 12 and there aren’t any left.

Also, fairly sure that discovering the Ruins is global, you don't do it per player, anyone who discovers it, discovers it for everyone, including the Hegemony one, which really means you have to strategically place your Antiquity Explorers so you can optimize and beeline for them straight away.

I had the same impression, and this seems incredibly stupid. Not only the cultural victory has almost nothing to do with Culture (just build explorer + museum, which are both basically unlocked immediatly) but not even reaching hegemony has sense if you unlock it for everyone.

Cultural victory should definitely be way more linked to culture, and should give an advantage to first one to reach some cultural milestone, not to everyone when someone reach a cultural milestone.

It’s actually relatively easy but you can only get it late in the tech tree when you’re allowed to put 3 specialists on the urban tiles
Unlike the gradual treasure fleets for example you get them only late into the game and almost all ar once

My strategy is purchase urban districts on rural tiles and you get a growth event : put a specialist on a good urban tille
It helps to have wonders adjacent

You can also get artifacts randomly for overbuilding over previous era buildings. Its completely random, but I managed to get 2 this way in my cultural victory attempt. That said, I'de agree with you, I think culture victory is poorly handled this game.

My ranking for victory conditions so far is
Easiest to hardest: Domination, Economic, Scientific, Cultural (if you don't go capturing AI relic cities).

I am almost convinced that the Modern Era is half-baked, if the Atomic Age is true, then they will probably rework the Modern Age and move some stuff, allowing some Legacy Paths in Modern to be overhauled/updated.

First hours of new Civ I played for domination and economics legacy path....both very fun, especially in the exploration age, but maybe too easy.
I've got to try science in the next gameplay tomorrow
