Rate Of Fire ? :)

It was quite a while go I Played Civ 3, and now when I glanced through the civilopedia I noticed that the Artilery got a rate of fire of 2, while a cannon only got 1. I cant really recall what that means... is it that the Artillery may shoot twice per round and the cannon once, or is it something else? :die:

That's what it means.

Just to clarify...
Both can only bombard once per round but since the artillery has a rate of fire of 2 it can cause up to 2 points of damage. You can't shoot on 2 different targets with the artillery because of its rate of fire.
